Discussion-Worthy Readings in Child Developmental Psychology expands the readers’ understanding of various perspectives in child psychology on topics that are controversial, cutting-edge, and deserving of critical examination.

The readings are organized into three distinct sections that explore different developmental processes. Part One addresses biological processes, including teratogens, birth, breastfeeding, and early experiences. Carrie Lane is associate professor and program director of psychology at Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas. Professor Lane earned both her M.S. and her Ph.D. in experimental social psychology at the University of Texas, Arlington. After graduation she taught at Florida State University where she earned one of the University Teaching Awards. Her passion for teaching led her to innovative teaching styles like civic engagement. She recently received the Kansas Campus Compact Engaged Faculty Fellow grant to further her teaching and research on the topic.
