Author, book editor, researcher, social media writer and artisan Margot Silk Forrest has written and co-written numerous books, including her first, A Short Course In Kindness. Margot was sexually molested by her father from her infancy until she was 12 years old. Her recovery involved work in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) with Francine Shapiro, following which she began to edit a newsletter, The Healing Woman, for women who had been molested as children.
She also co-authored a book, EMDR: The Breakthrough Therapy for Overcoming Anxiety, Stress and Trauma, for people traumatized by violent, abusive or terrifying events. The result was EMDR: The Breakthrough Therapy for Overcoming Anxiety, Stress and Trauma. Whether they were the victims of rape, combat stress, tornadoes, persistent grief, addiction, panic attacks, or night terrors, the individuals interviewed in this book successfully used EMDR to put the past behind them and begin leading full and happy lives once again.
