Oppositional Defiant Disorder (odd) is characterized by a pattern of developmentally inappropriate negativistic, hostile, and defiant behavior that is usually most evident with familiar adults. Conduct Disorder involves a pattern of more serious violations of societal norms, including physical aggression, truancy, theft, and vandalism. These categories of disruptive behavior, often grouped under the term externalizing behaviors, are an area of major clinical concern due to their prevalence and prognosis.
