The population for this book consisted of African-American, Caucasian, Hispanic male and female undergraduate students attending a college in the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan area. The sample consisted of freshman and sophomore students. All of the participants were between 18 and 28 years. One of the instruments was the standardized Brief Personal Survey. Additional tools employed in the book produced a checklist of the sources of stress which were compiled by the author. Each stress source was presented on a five-point Likert scale ranging from “1-Not stressful” to “5-Extremely stressful.” Respondents were asked to indicate to what extent they have personally experienced each stressor. This book explores the importance of understanding the effect of stress in college students lives.
