This easy-to-ready, yet in-depth, multimedia publication is intended to inform and guide adults when talking to children about a suicide attempt in the family. The publication, consisting of a booklet and DVD, informs adults about how to talk to preschoolers, school-aged children, and teenagers. Included for each age group is information about when and where to talk to children, examples of what to say, childrens’ reactions to expect and how to handle them, and other ways to support the children (including special activities and other outlets for children to keep busy and active, and encourage expressing their emotions). The publication is clearly organized and will be a go-to for any moments of difficulty in dealing with such a situation.
