Description

Summary In the loss of a loved one-however horrifying, unimaginable the tragedy or even if they just pass on naturally-it is painful. We go through many stages, such as numbness, pain, anger, questioning why, healing, forgiving ourselves, and forgiving others. Then we let go of ourselves, continue to let God. We find that we have now moved on in our pain for purpose. Nothing is what it seems in the human eye, but God knows always. God is the beginning and the end. Isaiah 41:10,13 (NKJV) says, “Fear not, for I am with you; do not look around you in terror and be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen and harden you to difficulties, yes, I will help you. Yes, I will hold you up and retain you with my right hand of rightness and justice . . . for I, the Lord your God hold your right hand; I will help you!” We go through numbness, pain, anger, questioning why, healing-all these things are part of the healing process. Forgiving ourselves: Isaiah 43:18-19 (KJV) says, “Do not remember the former things; neither consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs forth; do you not perceive and know it and will you not give heed to it? I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” Lastly, forgive them, realizing that they are in so much pain and do not realize how it affects their loved ones. Life is a struggle. The devil is determined to defeat and destroy us. We won’t ever reach the place where we never have to fight, but it’s not just our fight. Jesus is not only with us; He is for us. He’s at our side to strengthen us, and to urge us onward. Life with a purpose: Jeremiah 29:11 (NKJV) says, “For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome.”
