Description
This study was attempted to examine the relationship between exposure to pornography and premarital sexual permissive attitude and behavior of students. Analysis of the data revealed that male students have had higher exposure to pornography than females. Majority of the students started watching porn during middle adolescence. This is also followed by earlier initiation of first sexual intercourse at the age of 14 to18 among the majority of the students. In addition, the students have had more than one sex partner which accounted for 78% of the sample group. There was also a significant difference between male and female students on the level of exposure to porn (in Television, Books and Magazines); males having had more exposure than females. In addition, exposure to porn on internet and traditional media was found to be a significant predictor of premarital sexual permissive attitude. However; watching porn (on television, books and magazines) was not a significant predictor of permissive sexual behavior of students. The level of watching porn on internet was the most important contributor of variations in sexual attitude and behavior of students.
