In 1975, Anna Valendez was removed from her extended family, large estate, jeep drivers and nannies in Cebu, Philippines to live with her stepfather and mother in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Immediately upon arriving in the United States, her mother divorces the cowboy and plunges the little girl into a world filled with loneliness, violence, sex, and drugs. After learning English and surviving molestation from strangers & family, this six year old songbird was actually one hundred years old by the time she started first grade.
