Description
Meet Stone. She is a combative, passionate, hard to get along with, rough around the edges, and a legit insane person. The manifestation of her ex-boyfriend, Max, chants insults while simultaneously encouraging her violent behavior. Her only family is her father, Isaac, who is also the town sheriff and at his wits end with his uncontrollable daughter. Jake, her cousin, is the only person left in her school who will talk to her, let alone stick up for her when the voices get too chatty.
To avoid persecution for a particularly violent outburst, she is sent to a mental health facility where she meets Paul Whitaker, an infamous ghost from her town. Sent there when he was just sixteen, he is hospital royalty, having killed his father for beating his mother to death. Stone and Paul become best friends and sometimes passionate intimate partners.
Meet Alexia, or Alex as she likes to be called. She is a hardworking, studious, fun loving, and just a generally well-liked girl who was working hard as a counselor in a halfway home on a Washington reservation. She has nothing in her past aside from a small stay in a health spa in Seattle. She is a help to the community. She and her father are close, but since he got remarried, she moved in with her new stepsister to give the newlyweds some space.
At her new counseling job, she meets Mack, and they instantly seem to have a connection. He is the perfect protector and is at the ready, saving her from intruders and strange visitors at her job. No one else could fit her so perfectly and make her so happy.
Alexia and Stone have never met, but their lives are going to impact each other more than they even realize.
