This book consists of 18 interviews with sober members of Alcoholics Anonymous and/or Al-Anon who agreed to frame the discussion of their higher power within the context of the four questions. Names have been left out to protect anonymity. Responses are personal and individual and are not intended to represent any religion, spiritual practice, or philosophy. The variety of spiritual experience within recovering communities is vast. Each person’s description carries a rich history of surrender, seeking, and gradually coming to deeply personal responses to the four questions.
