This is one immigrant’s story of physical, mental and sexual abuse. However, it is also a story of hope, survival, triumph and inspiration. It is one woman’s journey from a childhood of abuse and how she learnt to survive. It is one of extraordinary determination to one day find a much better life, no matter what it took, or where in the world that led her. It is an account of someone learning to grasp on to even the tiniest glimmer of hope, oftentimes under extreme circumstances, never letting go and always believing that she deserved better. She never gave up, knowing that she had to make this happen on her own. Eventually leaving home at sixteen and her homeland shortly thereafter on a one-way ticket and one suitcase, knowing deep in her heart she could never return. Can she beat the odds and find that better life?
