Temperament and Computer Play Patterns in Preschool Age Children
$57.60
Description
Preschool children are gaining widespread computer access yet there is little known about how a child’s personality affects his or her interest in computers. This book contains an academic empirical study which investigates the relationship between temperament and computer play patterns among preschool age children. The author went into 3 preschools, set up a computer play center, and asked teachers to provide their observations about each child’s computer play. Parents were asked to fill out questionnaires about their children’s temperament. Results indicate that there is interplay between children’s gender, personality, and computer play patterns. Results of the study are discussed in light of the “goodness of fit model.” This book would be of interest to researchers investigating topics of computer play and personality.
