John R. Ostwald is a Professor Emeritus (Psychology), newspaper columnist and Viet Nam era veteran of the United States Navy (Inshore Undersea Warfare Group II). His work has been presented at national conferences, and on radio and television.

For years, he had worked with Soldier’s Heart, a national non-profit organization based in Troy, New York whose mission is to transform the emotional, moral, and spiritual wounds that often result from war and military service.

This collection of articles, stories and pictures is a reflection on and tribute to all veterans, past, present and future.
