Rihanna and her brother Deshawn enjoy spending weekends at Mema and Papa’s house. They do all sorts of fun things like ride bikes, watch cartoons and eat ice cream. But one day after a fun visit, Rihanna learns Papa has died. She knew he’d been sick but what is dead? Why did Papa die? What is a funeral? Will Mema die too? Even though Moma and Mema answer her questions, Rihanna creates the “Pretend Game” to help her cope and to keep memories of Papa alive.
